Dr. Berat Barış Buldum
Associate Professor Dr. Berat Barış Buldum, a Mechanical Engineer, embarked on olive oil production in Mersin in 2020, initially as a hobby. Approaching olives and their derivatives—nature's miracles—with scientific and technical precision, he immersed himself in extensive literature, studying numerous books and scientific articles on the subject.
My Story
Dr. Buldum conducted in-depth analyses of the machinery systems involved in technical olive oil production. He visited all domestic machinery manufacturers in Turkey and significant international production facilities, observing and evaluating the processes from a technical standpoint.
The entire process, from washing to separation, encompasses various mechanical engineering aspects, including vibration, crushing, mixing, centrifugal separation, and interconnecting pump systems. Dr. Buldum personally operated these machines in his first factory, making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results.
Beyond cultivating high-quality crops, he emphasized the importance of harvesting, transporting, and delivering the produce to the factory. Dr. Buldum demonstrated that machinery plays a crucial role in producing premium olive oil, leading to the creation of exceptionally high-quality oils. Under the brand name OLIOfood, he has successfully commercialized products derived from this miraculous plant, focusing on producing superior quality oils.
